Let’s Talk About Pendulums

A pendulum is a divination tool used to assist you in intuitively answering questions. Most commonly pendulums are cone shaped and have a string or chain attached to one end. The cone shape helps to enhance energetic and intuitive flow.

Pendulums can be beneficial in building intuitive confidence, enhancing connection, providing enlightened insight, and help calm confusion.

It is especially important to create an empowered relationship with any divination tool, this includes your pendulum. If you find yourself relying upon your pendulum to make decisions for you or if you are using your pendulum excessively, you are giving your power away to it. When you give your power away, an unhealthy dynamic of confusion is created and obtaining clear neutral answers will be virtually impossible. This type of imbalance impedes your intuition. When used in a harmonious, empowered, and healthy way, your pendulum is a wonderful tool in building an energetic bridge into trusting your own intuition.

To use your pendulum, begin by holding it between the palms of your hands. Close your eyes and breathe deeply as you connect with the energy of your pendulum. Once you feel connected, calm, and centered, hold the string or chain of your pendulum with your dominant hand (the hand you write with). Place your non dominant hand palm up and in a relaxed position approximately four inches underneath the lower tip of your pendulum. Breathe deeply as you keep the hand holding your pendulum as steady and still as possible. Ask out loud or silently to yourself, “show me my no today”. Make note of your “no”. Ask out loud or silently to yourself, “show me my yes today”. Make note of your yes. You are now ready to ask your question.

Helpful tips:

  • When choosing a pendulum, keep an open mind and allow your intuition to guide you.
  • Keep your pendulum energetically clear by burying it in a bowl of sea salt when not in use.
  • Each time you use your pendulum, check your current yes and no as these may change day-to-day.
  • Ask only yes or no questions.
  • Ask only one question per day.
  • Ask questions for intuitive validation.
  • Do not rely on your pendulum to make decisions for you.
  • Maintain an empowered relationship with your pendulum and enjoy the intuitive support.
