Mindfully and regularly turning inward gives you the opportunity to better know yourself. This type of contemplation provides a deeper understanding of your needs. Coming to know your deepest desires and needs affords an opening into implementing proper supports. When you realize the places and spaces in which you are lacking nurturing selfcare, you are then able to better nourish yourself. This prevents burn out, assists in calming overwhelm, and can be especially helpful when stress levels start to tick up.

Understanding and tending to your own needs through selfcare is foundational to your health and well-being on all levels. Knowing how to best support and nurture yourself also opens the energetic and intuitive door to expanding enlightenment and spiritual growth. Moreover, this deepened understanding of self initiates a conscious awareness of your life’s path and purpose.
Additionally, meditation and regular introspection carry you into a parasympathetic state of being. This affords you the space to heal and grow on all levels. When you are relaxed and grounded, you are holding a reflective and healing space for yourself. Therefore, becoming more fully aware of those times when you are, or are not, fully present and calm is vital to your well-being. Doing so provides you with a deeper understanding of yourself, your needs, and any helpful supports. Coming to better know your internal make-up also builds flexibility and strength.
I would like to share some of my favorite tools that powerfully support introspection:
I suggest four drops of clary sage essential oil, six drops of lavender essential oil, and four drops of patchouli essential oil mixed into two ounces of olive oil. Massage a small amount of your oil mixture underneath your nostrils right before meditation time.
So, the next time you are feeling overwhelmed and burnt out, it might be most helpful to engage in some regular reflection time. You will be feeling calm and grounded before you know it!
